Ex- Physician Faces Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients

Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.

The Grave Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Investigation

These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

List of Charges

The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
