Spurs have officially announced the full-time return of Fabio Paratici, who is part of a fresh management setup for the men's team operations.
Paratici stepped down from his role as managing director of football in April 2023 after an appeal against a two-and-a-half-year ban from football was rejected in Italy. The ban was handed down due to his role in accusations of financial irregularities at his former club, Juventus.
New Leadership Setup at Spurs
Paratici will now act as co-sporting director alongside Johan Lange, who has been promoted from his previous role as technical lead. The pair will collaborate with chief executive Vinai Venkatesham and manager Thomas Frank.
“I have been working with Johan, Vinai, and Thomas as a consultant for several months, and I now look forward to returning to London and becoming part of the team permanently,” Paratici stated. “I'm confident that working in partnership with Johan, we can create a bright future for the team and our supporters.”
Spurs explained that Paratici, who first joined the team in 2021, and Lange have been assigned with overseeing a framework that will aim to “develop a successful, top-tier men’s team that lasts.”
Executive Comments
Venkatesham voiced optimism in the appointments, saying, “By uniting two outstanding figures in Johan and Fabio, we're setting the foundations for sustained success.” The organization also mentioned that they will next recruit a football operations director.
- Paratici: Returns as joint sporting director following a 30-month ban.
- Lange: Promoted from technical director to joint sporting director.
- Leadership Team: Will work with CEO Vinai Venkatesham and manager Thomas Frank.
- Next Steps: Aim to build a successful, elite men’s team and recruit a director of football operations.
