I Refuse to Make Yearly Goals, But These Are The Commitments for 2026.

While I'm not given to making annual goals, a number of recent commitments to adopt improved beauty routines have emerged. It is my belief that even someone in this line of work, who already hydrates and shields from UV rays diligently, is still able to find aspects for improvement.

The Water Pledge

Once again, the commitment is to consume a greater amount of (or indeed some) water. After a lifetime of relying on tea, the feeling of being thirsty as others describe it is foreign. Therefore, hydration is a conscious effort pursued solely for my complexion (to which it delivers a noticeable improvement) and, simply, aliveness. For this purpose, an example of those absurdly oversized mugs used by social media personalities has been acquired, aiming to finish maybe a single one before the day ends.

I've bought one of those absurdly oversized mugs social media stars empty several times daily.

LED Mask Consistency

The goal is to use an LED mask not once once in a blue moon but a minimum of four times a week, as I advise others to do. In this pursuit, a preferred device is selected for its comfort and secure fit, as well as being comparatively affordable.

Product Loyalty Over Experimentation

In terms of products, an occasional break from testing the latest retinols in the name of journalism is planned. The alternative is to stick to the formula that yields terrific outcomes on my skin. However, because of the breaks in use, my skin is constantly readjusting to it.

Hair Treatment for Colour-Treated Locks

After nearly half a decade of bleached highlights, a consistent treatment mask is set to be introduced into the regimen. One specific option is favoured because its benefits are said to persist through multiple normal washes.

Lip Product Minimalism

An effort will be made not to always transporting a small arsenal of very similar lip products. The reasoning the majority are fairly adjacent to the perfect neutral pinky nude shade of a beloved lip product, which has now been reinstated as a core item after a brief plan to make it exclusive.

Trying Collagen-Boosting Supplements

Despite seeing no compelling evidential proof for them, collagen powders are on the list to try. The motivation is because feeling a responsibility to the significant portion of readers who remain adamant that they help and desire first-hand insights.

The Most Horrifying Promise: Fitness

Possibly the most daunting pledge, an incentive has been arranged with my son to accompany me to the gym once weekly. The reason is a lifetime of engaging in zero structured physical activity, for which my physician has issued stern warnings – on two occasions. The prognosis is that lacking any resistance exercise, movement will one day be like that of “a much older lady”. Although workouts are loathed, the desire for living is stronger, making it the moment to woman up.
