Trent Alexander-Arnold's rehabilitation is moving forward well, raising hope that the Real Madrid defender could return in time to confront his previous team Liverpool in November's Champions League encounter.

The 27-year-old international experienced a hamstring strain while playing against French side Marseille in the group stage of the tournament on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off the pitch in the early stages, with early indications suggesting a potential absence of up to a month and a half.

Real Madrid are scheduled to visit Liverpool on 4 November for the Champions League fixture—just over a month after the incident happened.

Reports close to the situation indicate that the player's recovery is progressing well, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold may make his first comeback to Liverpool's stadium since moving to Los Blancos in June.

A longtime Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold previously said that leaving the club he joined as a young youth talent was the "toughest choice he's ever made."

During his tenure with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold made over 350 games, helping win two English top-flight championships, a Champions League, and the domestic cup.

After his transfer to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has featured on five occasions in all competitions, accumulating 156 minutes of playing time.
