Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
American actor Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved programs including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
Finn is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
