England’s men’s team will embark on their Euro 2028 journey at the Manchester City’s stadium, provided that they attain the expected qualification for a competition staged throughout the majority of the UK and the Ireland.

Manchester City’s home ground has not hosted an Three Lions fixture since eight years ago, when the Turkish team were beaten 2-1 in a warm-up game, but is highly likely to welcome the England side for their opening fixture on June 10, 2028.

England are scheduled to play their last two group stage games at Wembley, but, should they win the preliminary round, their round of 16 match would be held at Newcastle’s St James’ Park. Placing second would mean beginning the playoffs at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Championship Kickoff and Protest

The championship was unveiled at an gathering in Piccadilly Circus on Wednesday evening. Key representatives from the tournament organizers and the host FAs were barracked as they entered the venue by approximately 50 pro-Palestine demonstrators, who urged Israel’s national side to be kicked out from international football because of the situation in Gaza.

Tournament Timeline

Qualifying Teams

The Ireland are scheduled to play their initial fixture at the Aviva Stadium and the Tartan Army would play similarly at Glasgow’s Hampden Park.

All four host countries’ teams will enter the qualification process; two reserved places will be reserved for any that fail to qualify for the tournament through the standard process.

Stadiums and Playoffs

Villa Park and Spurs’ ground complete the nine host stadiums. All will hold at least one playoff fixture, with the quarter-finals played at every host’s main arena.

The qualifying draw will be held in the Northern Irish capital, which was removed as a tournament location last year when it became clear the Belfast stadium could not be renovated in time, on December 6, 2026.
