Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in an LA Car Crash

Vince Zampella, who helped create the globally famous franchise Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in the state of California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.

The renowned game designer lost his life when his car crashed and caught fire on a highway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, according to.

"This is an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts commented.
